IF YOU FAIL TO PROVIDE PERSONAL INFORMATION REQUESTED
Where we need to collect personal data by law or under the terms of a contract we have with
you and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the
contract we have or are trying to enter into with you (for example, to provide you with
services). In this case, we may have to cancel a service you have booked with us but we will
notify you if this is the case at the time.
SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH OTHERS
We will not disclose personal information we hold about you to any third party except where
required by law or as follows: -
(i) to sister hotels & companies associated with Abbey House Hotel Reading;
(ii) to third parties who provide services to us, and act as data processors for us;
(iii) to professional advisers including lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers;
(iv) to HM Revenue & Customs, regulators and other authorities who require reporting of
processing activities in certain circumstances.
Also in the event that we sell any business or assets, we may disclose personal information
we hold about you to the prospective and actual buyer of such business or assets. If a change
happens to our business, then the new owners may use your personal data in the same way as

Please note that we do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data

purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

DATA SECURITY

CCTV
CCTV is installed in public areas, entrances and exits of our properties for the prevention and
detection of crime. Footage is securely stored and is only accessible to authorised personnel.
Footage may be shared with authorities if required by law.
HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION FOR?
We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes
we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting
requirements.
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount,
nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use
or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and
whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal
