Introduction

GDPR (also known as the General Data Protection Regulation) is a European framework for data protection laws. Lee House, Lynton (“we”, “us” or “Lee House”) is a data controller under this Regulation and we are required to have a Privacy Policy in place. We understand that you care about the way your personal data is used and we are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. Our Privacy Policy sets out the way we manage the information you share with us.

Information We Collect About You

We only collect personal information about you where it is completely necessary or you have consented to provide it. We only collect the information that we need. We may collect information about you (and others if their personal information is provided by you) to facilitate processing a booking, payment transaction, or simply help you with any enquiry about making a booking, or an existing booking. This information can include your name, address, billing address, email address, telephone numbers and payment card details.

We only collect information about you that is relevant to providing bed and breakfast accommodation at Lee House. We do not collect ‘Special Categories of Personal Data’ (for example race, religion, sexual orientation), but in order to best meet your needs and provide good service it may be helpful for us to note dietary preferences, disability or health information and any special requirements you wish to advise us of.

Guest Registration

We are required by law to keep a record of all guests over the age of 16 and keep this for 12 months. We do this by asking you to complete an online registration form which is emailed to you 10-14 days prior to your arrival or sooner if your booking is last minute. Registration forms are held securely and are only accessible to us. We are required to show registration forms to a police officer if requested.

How We Use Your Information

We collect personal information in order to:
• process a booking
• process a payment
• meet our obligations under a booking contract
• meet our legal, financial and other regulatory obligations
• answer and reply to your enquiries.

With your consent we may send you newsletters or other correspondence, which may include marketing information.

Please note, when booking through a third party (e.g. Booking.com) their Privacy Policy will apply to that aspect of the transaction and any follow up emails they send you, including requests for feedback on your stay with us.

We do not share your information to any third parties unless we are required to do so to process a booking, or for legal or financial obligations. We will never disclose or sell your personal information to any third parties for their marketing purposes.

Information Security

We work hard to keep your data safe. We are PCI DSS compliant for card transactions and all the information you give us is handled and stored in a secure and sensible manner. We only keep your information for as long as we are legally or financially required to do so. If you have a security-related concern, please contact us using the contact details at the end of this policy.

Cookies

We are a small family run business and we do not use cookies.

Marketing

Although we don’t run marketing campaigns we do like to keep in touch with our guests; subject to your consent we may occasionally email out a newsletter or send post. We hope you will want to hear from us, but you have the right to opt-out from receiving this at any time. We will never, ever send you spam.

Access to your information

You have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you. We will provide you with this information within one month of receiving your request. You also have the right to contact us if you believe any information we hold about you is incorrect. Our contact details are shown below.
